What's New
Leo A. Paquette has retired as Editor-in-Chief of e-EROS. Leo started to work on the Encyclopedia of Reagents for Organic Synthesis back in 1993 and the first print edition in 8 volumes was published in 1995. In 2002 all the content of EROS was published as e-EROS on Wiley Online Library. Since then the Editor have added twice a year new articles and updates of existing articles. Overall more than 1000 new reagents were added and more than 500 articles were updated over the past 8 years! This enormous development took place under the leadership of Leo A. Paquette.
The new e-EROS Editor-in-Chief, David Crich, has continued in the spirit of Leo A. Paquette, and together with Philip L. Fuchs, Gary Molander and André B. Charette, they ensure that new reagents and catalysts are added and existing articles are updated.
We would now like to welcome on board a new Associate Editor to the Executive Editorial Board of e-EROS and related Handbooks, Tomislav Rovis from Colorado State University. Tom will start commissioning articles for the 2011 e-EROS Builds onwards.
Since new functionalities have been added to e-EROS, authors are now able to link directly with their articles:
Contributor names A to E
Contributor names F to J
Contributor names K to R
Contributor names S to U
Contributor names V to Z
Each reagent now lists CAS numbers and InChI/InChI Keys, so that it is easy to link to other sources of information. Each article now publishes as HTML and as PDF. Open an article as HTML and on top of the list of content on the left side of the page you will find the link to the PDF
In 2009 the 2nd Print Edition of the Encyclopedia of Reagents for Organic Synthesis was published [see here]. The 2nd Print Edition includes all reagents published up to March 2009.
e-EROS allows also for the publication of focused Handbooks, published under the series title Handbooks of Reagents for Organic Synthesis. The latest three Handbooks published in this series were Catalyst Components for Coupling Reactions, edited by Gary Molander, Reagents for Radicals and Radical Ion Chemistry, edited by David Crich and Sulfur-Containing Reagents, edited by Leo A. Paquette.
e-EROS continues with more updates and new articles. Below you will find a list with more than 150 new and updated reagents, reflecting the needs and progress of the organic synthetic communities.
