About the Editor

John G. Webster, Ph.D., is Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a Fellow of the Instrument Society of America, and a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. His many honors and awards include the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, AAMI Foundation Laufman-Greatbatch Prize, and the University of Wisconsin Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Webster is also the editor of the four-volume Encyclopedia of Medical Devices and Instrumentation and has developed 14 other publications.
