Abstract

This tutorial describes the construction of fritless nanocolumns and tips from 100-µm microcapillary tubing. Protocols are given for pulling the tips using a commercial laser puller as well as for packing a single-phase or multidimensional column. The nanocolumns described are for use in in-line µLC separations and are typically coupled to an ESI source.
