Abstract

Reversal designs are used to study the effect of a treatment on the behavior of a single participant. The participant is observed repeatedly prior to treatment to establish a baseline level of behavior. The treatment is then administered and repeated observations are made to assess whether the behavior improves during treatment. The treatment is then removed and repeated observations are made to see if the behavior reverses toward baseline levels.
