Summary

Chapter One presents historical development of Temperature Scales from XVIth century up to the presently actual International Temperature Scale (ITS-90) and also the detailed classification of thermometers. This classification covers location of electrical and non-electrical temperature sensors in general ordering scheme and measuring ranges of different instruments.
