Summary

Chapter Fourteen gives a short revue of infrared thermal imaging systems, comprising surfacial and linear systems. Surfacial systems based on opto-mechanical scanning were introduced by AGA AB since 1965, and deliver a two-dimensional colour picture of temperature field. They are superseded now by scanning matrix systems, the technical parameters of which are given. Linear systems, also described, are applied for temperature field presentation of continuously heated moving charges. Applications and technical data of both systems are listed at the end of this chapter.
