Summary
Chapter Fifteen presents in a detailed way, not to be found in any other book, the problems of dynamic temperature measurement, that is during which thermal transients occur in a sensor, either due to temperature variations in the medium or in the temperature sensor itself.
Definitions and corresponding formulae of dynamic errors and dynamic sensor properties are given. The chapter includes definitions of idealised sensor, its transfer function and theory of measurement of time varying temperature and next definition and properties of real industrial sensors.
The chapter presents, in detail, methods of experimental determination of dynamic properties of sensors including step and frequency response. Dynamic properties of sensors are shown in diagrams and tables. Principle and results of analogue and digital correction of dynamic errors are shown.
