Summary

Chapter Eighteen is a short survey of methods of temperature measurement of transparent solid bodies, e.g. glass or plastics. This chapter is mainly devoted to pyrometric methods in connection with physical properties of the bodies under measurement and their dimensions. Choosing the optimum effective operation wavelength of pyrometer is of utmost importance, this being illustrated by several diagrams and based on cited theory.
