Summary

Chapter Five presents semiconductor thermometers, starting with most popular thermistor thermometers, their principle of operation, production technology, types and characteristics. The methods of guaranteeing the interchangeability of thermistor sensors, linearisation of their characteristics and measuring circuits are presented. A survey of silicon resistance thermometers, diode and transistor thermometers and integrated circuit thermometers is given, and the corresponding measuring circuits are dealt with.
