Summary

The internet allows humans to synergistically interact with new information at a faster rate than in the past. Consequently, the internet is becoming a vital educational tool. Resources in libraries, universities and industry are becoming accessible in new ways and to a new audience. In the future, as the internet becomes the main learning resource, teachers will have to change from being founts of knowledge to being learning facilitators who will guide students to and through resources on the internet. As with any technology, students and teachers must know what they are dealing with, must be wary of it, must become skilled in its use and must be circumspect about what it can do for them.
