Summary

Any person can have a website. Some websites clearly belong to students; their homepages present some of their academic work. Other websites, usually hosted by a university, are specifically dedicated to presenting the work of students. This can create problems since it could result in a student citing a student. Unfortunately, it is not always made clear that the work of students is being displayed on the website in question. Judicious searching has to be done to find the provenances of the material. Advice is given in the text about how tutors might manage such presentations of student's work.
