This chapter delineates the strengths and weaknesses of the three main packet transport technologies for voice: IP, ATM and Frame Relay, including a quantitative comparison of the efficiency with which they utilize network bandwidth. Here we present a very concise comparative evaluation of many points that are dealt with in more detail in Chapters 1 to 6. This chapter can be regarded as an Executive Summary of the earlier part of this book.
