Summary

This chapter gives five ways of describing a two-port circuit in terms of voltage and current. Networks are often cascaded together and it is useful to describe each network in such a way that the product of the matrices of each network would describe the total composite network. This chapter presents equations to accomplish this description. Commonly used transmission lines (two wire, two parallel plate, coaxial, and microstrip) are detailed. Scattering parameters are also described.
