Summary

DNA is one of the fundamental molecules of all life as we know it. Yet many of the features of DNA as described in more elementary sources are incorrect or at least misleading. Here a brief but fairly rigorous overview is presented. Special stress is given to try to clarify any misconceptions the reader has based on prior introductions to this material.
