Summary
The American Society of Human Genetics asserts “every person should have the right to gain access to his or her medical record, including genetic data.” This chapter reviews information about what types of information should be included in the family history of a child being placed for adoption. Information is also provided about obtaining information from a closed adoption. A sample family history form is included in Appendix A.4.
