Summary

Chapter 11 covers the optical packet switch architectures in both all-optical and optoelectronic approaches. The former stores packets in the optical domain while the latter in electrical domain. The strength and weakness of different architectures are presented. Two optical packet switches are described in detail to better understand switching operations and implementation complexity.
