Summary

This chapter consists of Subchapters 1–10 and deals with syntheses of supramolecules. The lengthiest sections cover the supramolecular complexes of bis(2,2′-bipyridine)osmium(II) and ruthenium(II) (Subchapter 4) and binuclear oxomolybdenum–metalloporphyrin complexes (Subchapter 5). Other syntheses presented include the syntheses of a planar Co(III)–cation radical–Co(III) complex of the binucleating ligand 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(2-hydroxy-2-methylpropanamido)benzene, the syntheses of (5-phenylporplinato)zinc(II) and the synthesis of Mn12O12(O2 CR)16 (H2O)4. Also presented is the “complexes as metals/complexes as ligands” synthetic strategy.
