Abstract

Ethylenebisdithiocarbamates are widely used around the world to protect crops against different kinds of pests, and it is not surprising that these compounds can be detected at trace level in environmental samples. Stringent regulations have produced an increase in the number of methods developed for their determination. In this section, a brief introduction to the methods for the analysis of ethylenebisdithiocarbamate pesticides, followed by a more detailed discussion of individual methods, is presented. Analysis of ethylenebisdithiocarbamate residues and their decomposition products in foodstuffs, water, commercial samples, and various environmental samples using different techniques is the key feature of this article.
