Abstract

Nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a common imaging modality in clinical settings because of its excellent ability to discriminate between different soft tissues or matter. For this same reason, MRI is a useful analytical tool for characterizing materials. This article covers the theory and capabilities of MRI as applied to the studies of materials.
