Summary

The principles and techniques of chemical kinetic analysis are reviewed in this chapter. Topics covered include elementary rate laws, reaction order, integrated rate equations, experimental determination of reaction order and rate constants, temperature dependence of reaction rates, acid-base chemical catalysis, theory of reaction rates, and complex reaction pathways. Specialized curve-fitting topics are also discussed such as numerical integration and non-linear regression, weighting, error analysis, and measures of goodness-of-fit of a model to data.
