Summary

In Chapter 9 the methods that can be used for the molecular characterization of block copolymers are discussed. Short descriptions of the fundamental principles of characterization techniques like size exclusion chromatography, osmometry, light and neutron scattering, NMR-UV-IR spectroscopy and viscometry are given. Examples of the implementation of these techniques in the molecular weight, compositional and structural characterization of simple and more complex block copolymers are given. Methods of block copolymer purification by fractionation techniques are also presented.
