Summary

In this chapter we review a few pertinent topics on parallel and distributed algorithms and apply those topics to the parallel and distributed processing of electric power systems. Because the topic of parallel and distributed processing is very broad, we have written this chapter with the assumption that readers have some basic knowledge of parallel and distributed computation.
