Summary

Commercial standards are the rules and terms of information transfer among designers, manufacturers and product users. Design codes are widely accepted general rules for the construction of components or systems with emphasis on safety. This chapter describes the organization of major international standard and code forming organizations and the state of their efforts with advanced materials.
