Summary

This chapter describes the design of active subharmonic receivers. Starting from active mixing techniques, it focuses on silicon based implementations, with low supply voltage receiver designs and mixer architectures. Descriptions of multiphase VCO designs and their relevance in these types of receivers have been provided in details. Scalability and architectural considerations of such receivers have been provided with increasing harmonic number.
