Abstract

The thermodynamic basis for the Clausius–Claypeyron equation for liquid to vapor transition is developed and discussed with specific reference to the heat of vaporization (Lv) for water. Examples using the Clausius–Clapeyron, Antoine, and Richards equations for calculating Lv are presented.
