Summary
Many important agronomic traits are complex and controlled by a number of genes. Molecular maps are necessary to efficiently manipulate these traits. Both molecular maps and large insert libraries are important resources to isolate the genes underlying QTLs by chromosome walking. Marker assisted selection and conventional breeding schemes are compared.
