Summary

Basic concepts for groundwater hydraulics, dispersion, and diffusion in groundwaters are introduced and combined in a simple aquifer model. The model is applied to the dynamics of different time-dependent inputs of chemicals into an aquifer. Finally, the role of sorption and transformation processes in groundwater systems is discussed.
