Summary

While the variety and number of germanium-containing polymers is less than for silicon and tin, there are a number of studies reporting on the synthesis and characterization of these potentially important materials. Special emphasis is placed on the synthetic routes, physical properties, chemical properties, and application of polygermanes. Also included is a review of Ge-C and Ge-other non-metal polymers, anchored germanium-containing polymers, and germanium-containing polyphthalocyanine materials.
