This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

The objectives of this Review are:
1. To assess the quality of clinical trial data available from systemic chemotherapy trials for the treatment of inoperable HCC.
2. To determine the efficacy and adverse events of different chemotherapies (versus supportive management care, placebo intervention, or other chemotherapies (systemic or local)) when given to improve survival rates for inoperable HCC.
