Larger versus smaller dose of the same drug/s regimen for metastatic breast cancer

  • Protocol
  • Intervention

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

The objective of this review is to compare larger with smaller doses of the same chemotherapy regimen in women with metastatic breast cancer. Given the various schedules in which chemotherapy may be administered, several different comparisons might arise:
1.30mg every 3 weeks v 40mg every 3 weeks. Arm 2 represents an increase in dose intensity.
2.30mg every 3 weeks v 30mg every 2 weeks. Arm 2 represents an increase in dose density.
3.30mg every 3 weeks v 10mg every week. Dose intensity is not different. Although the inter-treatment interval has been shortened, this is not a test of the same dose given more frequently, thus dose density is not increased. This comparison would not be included.
