This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

To analyse the beneficial and harmful effects of types of palliative treatment (endoscopic or surgical, associated or not with adjuvant therapy) in relation to survival and quality of life for patients with unresectable cholangiocarcinoma.
