Reason for withdrawal from publication

Major errors in the Review have been identified through the Feedback mechanism. The detailed errors raised by the author of the Feedback may be summarized as:

1. Overgeneralizing the overgeneralizations from the original paper is invalid and does not help clinicians understand the specific context of the unitary trial that was cited.

2. The single cited study contains methodological errors that decrease the validity of the conclusions including inadequate control groups or a power analysis.

3. The statistical analysis by the review of the single cited study was flawed.

The Review will be replaced by a new version written by a new author team. A new protocol has been published: Regnaux J-P, Trinquart L, Boutron I, Nguyen C, Brosseau L, Ravaud P. High-intensity versus low-intensity physical activity or exercise in patients with hip or knee osteoarthritis. Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews 2012 , Issue 11 . Art. No.: CD010203. DOI: 10.1002/14651858.CD010203 .

The editorial group responsible for this previously published document have withdrawn it from publication.
