This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

The aim of this review is to assess the effectiveness of glutamine supplementation in patients with colorectal cancer for the incidence of mucositis.
This review will evaluate whether glutamine supplementation decreases complications in patients with colorectal cancer, and whether glutamine supplementation decreases the length of hospital stay and thereby the costs of treatment .
