The aim of this review is to provide a systematic evaluation of the clinical effectiveness of anakinra in adult patients (18 years and older) who have not responded to conventional DMARD treatments.

This review will address the following questions:
1. What is the clinical effectiveness of anakinra for the treatment of RA in terms of:
a. relieving symptoms?
b. delaying disease progression?
2. What are the risks (frequency and severity of adverse events) associated with anakinra treatment in these patients?
