This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

The primary objective is to determine whether the avoidance of bottle feeds during the establishment of breast feeding increases the likelihood of successful breast feeding and is safe.

Subgroup analyses will be carried out to determine if the outcomes are altered by type of intervention.
