This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

·To assess the effectiveness of non-occupational post- exposure prophylaxis among HIV-negative people according to different post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) regimens.
·To assess the safety of PEP among HIV-negative people according to different exposure routes.
·To asses the safety of PEP among HIV-negative people according to different PEP regimens.
