Abstract

  2. Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

Primary
To determine from available evidence whether dietary or supplemental omega 3 fatty acid is effective in the primary prevention of dementia in the non-demented population.

Secondary
To review the benefit of treatment with omega 3 fatty acid on cognition measures, and whether its protective effect (if any) is dependent on the dose. An accompanying aim is to determine the safety of the treatment and adherence to it.
