This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

We will review the use of circular stapling devices compared to conventional excisional techniques in the surgical treatment of hemorrhoids in patients with symptomatic hemorrhoids, and ascertain whether there is any difference in the outcomes of the two techniques.
