This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

The primary aim of this protocol is to evaluate the effectiveness of intra-uterine pressure catheter when intravenous oxytocin is used for induction or augmentation of labour compared with the effect of using external tocodynamometry.
