This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

To determine and compare the patency rates of the two treatment methods, as assessed by:

  1. Clinical (resolution of symptoms and signs, improvement in quality of life).

  2. Objective clinical measurements (ankle brachial pressure index, treadmill walking distance).

  3. Imaging (Doppler, Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA), Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) and Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA)).
