Antidepressants for agitation and psychosis in dementia

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

To assess the safety and efficacy of antidepressants in treating psychosis and agitation in adults with Alzheimer's, vascular or mixed dementia. The effects of different classes of antidepressants (SSRIs, TCAs, trazodone, other antidepressants) will be compared to either placebo or alternative psychotropic medications including antipsychotics, benzodiazepines, anticonvulsants, cholinesterase inhibitors or memantine.
