This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:
The primary aim of the review is to evaluate whether (very) early discharge from in-hospital treatment, for a selected group of patients, is not inferior to non-early discharge from in-hospital treatment in pediatric cancer patients with febrile neutropenia, with regard to rehospitalization and death. Moreover, we will look at quality of life, costs, and duration of treatment as secondary outcomes. We will analyze these outcomes in all pediatric cancer patients as well as in various subgroups.
