Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

To summarise the best evidence for effectiveness of interventions aimed at preventing falls in people after stroke. Our primary objective is to determine the effect of interventions on rate of falls (number of falls divided by length of follow up) and number of falls in people after stroke. Our secondary objectives are to determine the effects of interventions aimed at preventing falls on (1) number of fall-related fractures, (2) number of fall-related hospital admissions, (3) near-fall events, (4) economic evaluation, (5) quality of life and (6) adverse effects of the interventions in people after stroke.
