Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

The primary objective of this review is to compare the total duration of invasive mechanical ventilation for critically ill adult patients requiring intravenous sedation who are managed with daily sedative interruption (DSI) versus no DSI. Other objectives are to determine whether DSI influences morbidity, mortality, and sedation consumption.
