  2. Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

The objectives of this systematic review are to determine the efficacy and safety of various prophylactic medications for hepatic VOD in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. We aim to establish:

  1. whether these medications reduce the frequency of hepatic VOD;
  2. whether these medications reduce mortality;
  3. whether a particular type of medication or regimen is more effective than others; and
  4. whether these medications are associated with adverse effects.
