Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

The primary objective of this systematic review of cyclodestructive procedures for the management of glaucoma will be to assess the risks and benefits of different routes of administration of cyclophotocoagulation on IOP control in patients with all forms of non-refractory glaucoma (i.e., patients who have not been treated for glaucoma or have only been treated medically or with other laser procedures for glaucoma) of varying severity. Specifically, we will assess the effects of the route of administration of cyclophotocoagulation on IOP control, visual acuity, and pain control. We will assess the safety of the intervention by review of all adverse events occurring during and after the intervention. In addition, we will compare laser delivery instruments and parameters according to the effect on IOP control, visual acuity, and pain control as well as safety.
