This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

To investigate the clinical effects of horticultural therapy on people with schizophrenia or schizophrenia-like illnesses who are concurrently receiving standard care compared with no additional intervention to standard care or other additional psychosocial interventions to standard care.
