This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

To assess the clinical effectiveness and safety of interventions (non-pharmacological and pharmacological), as monotherapy or in any combination, for treating acute HAI. We will exclude chronic mountain sickness or Monge’s syndrome (Leissner 2009; León-Velarde 2010; Monge 1942).
