Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:

To assess the assess the efficacy and safety of adding anti-leukotrienes to inhaled corticosteroids and compare to using the same, an increased or a tapering dose of inhaled corticosteroids in children and adolescents with persistent asthma who remain symptomatic despite use of maintenance inhaled corticosteroids. In addition, to determine the characteristics of patients or treatment, if any, that influenced the magnitude of response attributable to the addition of anti-leukotrienes.
