This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

To assess the effectiveness of acid reflux treatments in relieving globus pharyngeus, in the absence of other identifiable causes, whether or not a definitive diagnosis of laryngo-pharyngeal and gastro-oesophageal reflux has been made.
